3 cyls, then 4. CEL on, no flashes

The '96 CSE started on 3 cylinders last night, then after a minute ran on all four. Got a CEL (as you'd expect), but when I checked it there were no flashes.
Car ran fine on errands today. Then reset the CEL by disconnecting the battery, car starts and runs fine. I get full boost, no issues.
It makes me think the DI is getting shakey, but this happened once before, about 8 months ago and no other issues since. I have a spare DI on hand (now in the trunk!!)
Maybe this is just one of the weird things that happens. Any thoughts?
