Let me guess - the car had been running about 5 minutes, and it was pretty cool; you probably had plenty of condensation on the windshield.
If so, normal. Condensation forms on the radiator. You drive around, and the coolant temp starts to rise, but the thermostat is closed. Then the thermostat opens up, and hot coolant hits the radiator. The condensation evaporates, but since it's cool out, it condenses as mist in the air.
You normally don't see it because you're probably moving along when the thermostat first opens. the mist blows into the engine compartment, unseen. But in that case when you're stopped at a light, you see it.
Of course, you should be monitoring your coolant level, but I think it's that normal evaporation on a cool morning.
