My 97 9000 cse did the same thing except about a 2 months into owning it and have a headgasket and waterpump replaced. Dealer wouldn't cover it cause the car was bought as is which is just as likely as yours. 3 to 4 weeks sounds about right as they have to either order a new engine or source a used one, probably from goldwing. That will cover about one and half weeks quoted as they wait for it to come in. The rest is gettting the time to schedule it in the books. Its about a good 48 hour job to pull the engine, disassemble and rebuild, and put the engine back in for a dealer to do it. Or 24 hours to pull and drop in a new engine. Stinks you had the same problem as me. Oh, no problems with my used 96 cse engine in my 97 so i trust goldwing if you go my route.
