We were first on the scene to look at a 92 9kT and had driven more than an hour to get there. After getting it home I realized there were more problems than I thought. TCS light on, quits on climbing long steep hills...

Long story short: vacuum hose from TCS to TCS valve on firewall, exhaust from rear of cat back, o-ring behind oil filter mount, outside temp sensor, lights for EDU (trip computer display)...

Still:

Hard to start. Need to start twice for it to take if it sits overnight. I tried once to feed gas while starting and it blew smoke like a dragon and check engine light came on (BTW, Townsend site's method for reading and clearing check engine codes is wonderful!).

It does not start immediately anytime. Not a real problem but maybe it is a symptom of something. Should I use some injector cleaner or something?

Maybe related, it gets much worse gas mileage than I would expect. Even when used mostly on long trips, I am seeing 24 mpg at most, when I am used to 30 mpg with the classic 900 Turbos. Am I spoiled by the classic 900T's?

Another problem is it sometimes blows smoke when accelerated just after starting or after coming down a long hill. Might be the valve guide seals. Is this a possibility and how difficult to replace them? I did it on my V4 Sonett III a number of years ago, but this car is dual overhead cam.

All that aside, I really like the car. It drives really nicely and has a lot of power. I just wish I could gradually resolve all the issues. More later...

Thanks for any advice,

Charles
