TCS permanent code

Hey guys, this morning i was driving my 95' aero 5 spd with tcs. Got a bit of snow and usually getting up my hill the tcs will kick in and I usually get up it better with out it. Well while the tcs was at work limiting wheel spin I turned it off simutaneously. About 10 mins later the car went into LHM (limp home mode) and must have stored a permanent code since disconnecting the battery will clear the TCS OFF light and cel, but it still wont rev past 3500 without some effort, but the throttle pedal is easily pushed, then after about a minute or so it pops on the TCS OFF light and cel, and the throttle becomes hard to push.
SO, my logic is switching off while the system was working tripped the system up and set a permanent code not letting it go back. Or could I have messed up the calibration? Either way the TCS saftey valves are fairly new as are the vacuum lines...
Any help is appreciated.
Also earlier that day I took the ground off the ecu (with the battery disconnected) and cleaned it and tigtened it down. Along with putting a new thermostat in, I check all connections around the areas for something I could have disconnected or missed to no avail.
