Both numbers will work fine.
The "6" are one step hotter than the "7".
Which means that with the ideal plug number the tip of the spark plug should run at about 450-500F (minimum temp to burn combustion deposits) at idle and at around 1050F at full throttle.
Go to a colder plug by one step and the temp of the porcelena tip (insulator) might not be hot enough (long period of idling)at idle to burn combustion deposits and might create some misfiring after a while (a long while). The benefit of using a colder plug is that at full throttle for extended period of time (racing for example) the tip will not get so hot that it could ignite the mixture before the spark occurs.
A hotter plug would be good for pizza delivery cars or taxis where there is a lot of idling.
A colder one for heavily modified engines (higher compression than stock, playing with timing, tight squish...)
That said, even if my Aero is modified with SQR Stage 4 ECU, 3" exhaust...it is still considered light modifications.
I use BCPR7ES (0.8mm gap)or BCPR7ES-11 (1.1mm gap)...in both cases I re-adjust the gap to 0.9mm for my Aero.
Each letter has a meaning and if my memory serves me right the
B means size and pitch of thread
C (I don't remember)
P for Prolonged insulator tip
R for Resistor type
7 is the heat range
E is the length of the threaded part
S (I also forgo this one)
11 stands for larger gap than normal (in that case 1.1 mm)
