For the most part my 93 940 wagon has been ignored over the years. It demanded little attention and got none. Just kept moving when we switched on the ignition and shifted to drive. Every two years it fails NJ NOx emissions which I try to get it pass just like my 9k's. Every 10k miles I replace the engine oil (Mobile 1). Every 20k miles I flush the transmission oil. Every 60k miles I put in a new timing belt. If I forget, it is no big deal. I'll just find one of these days the car won't start and I'll have to diagonse it to find the timing belt snapped. It is a non-interference engine.
Of course you cannot tell it to hurry up no matter what you do.
