But assuming you are like most people a staged approach could be best. If you upgrade springs, dampers or wheels you'll have to do the suspension bushes anyway, so that's the place to start - you could put poly on the "butterfly bushes" and the rear anti-roll bar and new rubber on the front bar, and see what that does for you.

Personally I would then move to 16" wheels with your choice of (good) tyres. I like the Bridgestone S-03s but they are expensive, don't last long and won't work in snow - but you can keep the 15" wheels for winter tyres. Lots of people like 17" wheels and would disagree when I suggest they are more for looks than function on the 9000, and ride would suffer with less sidewall. But either way you should maybe look at wheels/tyres before further suspension upgrades.

There are other current threads just now about alternative suspensions including the Saab "road handling kit", which I have on my car, and like. If you don't want to feel every bump, as you say, I would suggest from personal experience that you don't go too far in lowering and stiffening. There are advantages to fitting a complete kit - the Abbott/Koni suspension on my previous CSE was a well-coordinated system, just too stiff for me. Lots of facts and anecdotal evidence about Bilsteins and Konis posted previously, but the Saab items from Sachs/Boge shouldn't be dismissed. I'd be interested to read any feedback on the Koni suspension kit now available, by the way.

I was just recommended to try the Abbott rear bar upgrade to reduce understeer and I probably will, though I've a distrust of doing anything extreme at just one end of the car. As you appreciate, stiffening anti-roll bars will make the suspension harder, to some degree, on anything but the smoothest road.
