my daughter's '95 LR passenger door wouldn't relatch after being opened.
I finally cleaned out the latch with carb cleaner (basically a solvent, comes in a spray can) then re-lubed it with WD40. Hasn't frozen since. Spray in the carb cleaner and work the latch a lot with the door open. I actually removed my latch. Then spray with some WD and you should be good to go. It took me a coupla tries to get it cleaned and lubed but now no probs.
Oddly, it doesn't happen on my '96 CSE, just the '95 CS
