My 1997 Aero (124K miles) has intermittent faults, which I now realise are occurring simutaneuosly. Has anyone had similar experiences who may offer advise on troubleshooting:
Faults:
1) Fuel Gauge readings are all over the place, sometimes they are legitimate and other times zero, even when full. I think the float may be floating around in there, but other gremlins i've noticed are happening when my fuel readings drop...
2) My brake pedal pressure reduces, It leaves me with ABS, but no assist pressure.
3) Boost becomes reduced, though not base boost, it will not get deep into the red.
4) SRS light stays on permanently, not related, but maybe useful to know in diagnosis. Came on last spring. no accidents.
Brainless, Baseless Theories:
For the record, these issues may not be related, but they seem to happen together and vary with the weather. It acts more normally when it is colder weather, so i'm wondering what electrical components might be getting overheated. This issue seems to resolve itself every winter and then comes back in the spring when the weather gets warm. Their could also be a vacuum leak somewhere in the system that constricts in cooler weather, sealing its leak.
The car is in awesome shape otherwise. Everything else has been meticulously maintained, as quickly as I can determine the errors, but this one is driving me crazy with speculation. I live in northwest arkansas and am far from any dealerships with proper diagnistics. No check engine light. Engine does not cut off. Acts normally besides those mentioned.
