When I bought my '95 9000 Aero with 50k on the clcok it looked like the exhuast system from the cat-back had recently been replaced. But ONE NH winter started a leak where the pipe meets the rear muffler.
All I have done to the car is a drop in K & N filter and replaced the BPC which was over boasting intermitantly. I do not want drone at highway driving, but a LITTLE more growl at idle and WOT would be alright. I would like to IMPROVE as a replace. But, I don't want to be hiting overboost again. I want to take this thing with stock drive line to 200K so no ECU's or mods for me. Might put a valve on the TB heater thats about the limit.
I have heard you can rip the center muffler out without much increase in noise. For now should I put a 2 and 3/4" or 3" pipe and end muffler on the car, or just patch-up stock. Will the increase in diameter that far back in the system net me anything? Or is it better to increase diameter up front then neck down towards the rear?
