Although I have no experience with Auto transmission, mechanical bolt up all you need to do is to replace the drive flange on the driver side. Don't think you need to worry about the smaller drive flange wither. The later model year LPT use the same smaller drive shaft and they works fine even when people converted them to FPT.
What I do not know is the drive and feel with respect to gear shift in the transmission. Anders may be able to help you.
