You just set yourself up for a dilemma. The only situation I know when you cannot turn on the ignition or withdraw the key is the wheel is lock. If the wheel isn't locked and you cannot take the key out, maybe your only other choice is to remove the ignition switch.
It isn't too big a deal to remove the switch. Disconnect the positive battery cable first although I could swear I have removed the driver side airbag without doing that first. Remove two torx screws behind the steering wheel. Remove the air bag. Use a 22 mm socket 1/2" drive ratchet with extension to trun the nut on the steering wheel loose. Remove the steering wheel. Remove the clam shell on the turn signal/ignotion switch assembly. There are four torx screws on the bottom clam shell.
After this it should be apparent to you what is what.
