The previous owner of my car (saab dealer shop foreman) removed the interior light in front of the mirror and pasted the antenna to the windshield, right to the blacked out section. Works well enough and I dont mind not having the interior light.
I never checked the wiring but it cant be too difficult. I'm sure it probably is fed by the usual 3 leads-
1-ground
2-ignition on power (probably from eyeball maplight switch)
3-continuous power (from 3way interior light switch)
It may not need continuous power. I'm just guessing that is how it remembers garage door opener presets, that may be flash stored in which it could only have 2 wires.
