I've done the cat-back exhaust on both my '95 and '96, using the eEuroparts Starla/Walker exhaust.
What works for me is to get the pipes in place and *loosely* connected. You'll have to twist and wiggle stuff to make it work, which is why you keep the pipe connections loose for now. The rear end of the flex pipe should be pointing upwards.
Put the hangers on the car. Push the center muffler up against the floor and hook the hanger over one of the hooks on the muffler (I do the inner one first). Then do the other hanger. Some people find it easier to put the hangers on the muffler and then connect to the car but that usually doesn't work for me.
Now do the rear the same way. You can twist, push and pull to get the muffler to where you can slip the hanger over the hooks on the muffler.
Now comes the fun part of tightening up the clamps and not having any leaks. This takes a while, but is not hard.
My indy says there's a bit of an art to hanging the exhaust, and there is. But it's easier to do an exhaust on a 9K than it is on a lot of other cars.
