Yes, and BillU, thanks for the Townsend link. It says clearly, "if hydraulic noise between 30-45 mph upon release of the throttle, change valve body," or something to that effect. For some reason I almost always forget to check the Townsend links.
I also neglected to note that the transmission fluid looks fine, nice clean pink on the dipstick. Perhaps a slight bit diluted looking though, so perhaps it's time for a flush. I'm wondering, if this is valve body related, whether maybe this indicates the wrong transmission fluid was added.
Detron II and III are different enough that you're cautioned not to swap them. Maybe II is a little less viscous or something.
Other than that, got rid (mostly) of a mild knocking yesterday by, yes, regapping the plugs. Time for new ones anyway, but I hadn't expected it to help that much.
I've had this car for a month or so now, so I'm only just getting around to some of these items after:
* Replacing the turbo
* Fixing the door lock actuators
* Working on all the other broken cars and stuff around the house.
