pB, The ZF4HP18 is one of my favorite trannys to rebuild. It has a simplicity of design that is refreshing for a four speed having direct drive in the higher gears without the use of a "torque convertor clutch" (lock-up torque convertor). The diagram doesn't show the Valve body. It has 24 valves and is one of the largest and most complex hydraulic valve bodies that I've had to work on, but it's usually a pleasure as the final product rarely fails to perform like a champ. Like all automatic trannys they have their problems and idiosyncracies but they are pretty easy and cheap to fix (comparitively) and when they are right they are very right. Cheers.
