Let me be the first to recommend Quasi's site (see link below) which tells you a huge amount about 9000s.

Will leave a US based contributor to do through the nomenclature as Europe has more options and variations. But a CD or CDE will be a four-door, while a CS or CSE give you the five-door hatch. "E" models will (in US) have a higher trim and engine spec.

How long you can expect from a 9000 will depend on many factors, including how it was used by all the previous owners, and how well you look after it yourself. Money is a factor but this forum helps save lots of loot if you ask for advice rather than shooting from the hip. You are looking at an eleven-year-old luxury car, and something will go wrong at some stage. The engine is extremely durable, however, and you may find that at 133k miles some thing like the head gasket, heater core or whatever have already been replaced. Also, later cars seem better made than earlier ones.

If you lower by 2" you will be sitting on the road (and it will feel that way too). But there are plenty of lowering springs and dampers available - try the Search box, here and on the Performance board. In particular, take a look at all the Sponsors - find them through the menu at the bottom of this page.

Looks are also improved by 16" wheels (or bigger if that's your thing) but you need to get the wheel offset right rather than just stick on anything that seems to fit.

The best "body kit" is that for the Aero and Anniversary models, but it's quite a restrained look even so. I much prefer it to the Mattel look of many modern cars, but there you go.

Finally, why not take a look at the Classified ads on TSN. This will enable you to check out images of the various types and specifications. People may ask and get better prices on the TSN Classifieds than on the wider market because it's read by enthusiasts - make of that what you will.
