trans swap auto to manual(long)

The garage next to mine has taken a 1993 2.3L 9000T cse automatic in on trade.I have checked it out and found it needs a transmission,TCS problems and other assorted issues.I can get this car cheap.I own a 1986 9000T 2.0L that is on its way out bodywise(too much accumulated rust)and am thinking about installing tha manual from the 86 into the 93.There is a guy near me(Carmine at Sylcar, Montreal Canada he has helped me with my 2 86&92)who says he has done it before. He says I will need a pedal cluster from a 90 and up manual(found one $50.00) and a right side driveshaft support from a 90 and up manual(found one $50.00 same place)Since I have a donor car and seem to be able to get all the necessary extra parts is this feasable? Also I remember reading here about the inner tripods being larger after a certain year, does this make it impossible?
Thanks in advance
