I have a UV flashlight. Escaping refrigerant is not going to leave any residue itself but the UV dyes the oil which leaves a trail and can be traced.
I cleaned off the system, charged it, ran it, and under UV can see bright-green oil slowly seeping from the connection where the 2 lines go into the evap core. I was just wondering if this is common amongst 9000s
My last 9k never leaked any r12 and it was a heavily abused 87 with over 200k. r12 is more dense than r134a and tends to leak slightly less. This is the first summer season for my aero and the females need AC. r134a used to be ~$2/can and it now seems to be around $10 yikes!
