After lots of fiddling and trying what faze gauge support suggested i got it working. The funny part about the whole thing is that what faze suggested actually made it worse, well half of what they said worked. I can't believe they sent that gauge out based on compression fittings with a nylon tube set up, i couldn't even hold 8 lbs on the gauge.
My solution, finally able to force my 6mm vacuum line over the lengthy hex fitting that the nylon tube was supposed to run through. Wow is all i got to say. No more hissing under boost or vacuum, its perfect. So here are the readings on a 97 9k cse automatic.
Vacuum: 19" of mercury is average idle and the rest is all relative to throttle
Boost: 0 psi at 2200 rpm, max boost i peg 16.5 psi at wot which tapers to about 10 psi, at 5500 rpm i still got 7.5 to 8 psi.
I'm just glad i didn't get pulled over this morning lol, was having way to much fun. Many thanks to Bill Davies and Erik919kt for helping in the previous posts.
My judgement of faze gauges: The gauges are actually good quality. The vacuum boost gauge coulda been a little better if they had used barbed nipple fittings since the compression fittings that come with the gauge are useless and leak to much. The customer support is actually quick but mediocre, they just kept trying to get me to use there compression fittings with the kit but none the less i sent an email at 10:00 at night and had a response at 8:00 this morning. I'd suggest this company to anybody believe it or not. So if any 9k owners have the gauge plates for the din slots, which are in the parts classifieds towards the bottom, and would like what i find to be a good gauge take a look at them, there in autozone.
