Can I use rubber fuel line inside fuel pump?

I'm still trying to change just an insert in my 95 Aero's faulty fuel pump.
Like it was mentioned here before, fuel line from Eeuro is too stiff to bend and the only other way to go is to use rubber line with ss clamps. I'm not sure I can put all pump pieces back together but want to try one more time before give up.
Any input greatly appreciated!
Victor
