All 900 Turbos from approx. 1990 on have the same brakes - calipers and rotors. So, effectively, your car has Aero brakes already. One relatively inexpensive brake upgrade you can do is fit 1988-1991 BMW M3 front pads in the front of a 9000. The BMW pads will require a slight amount of grinding to the backs, but this takes only about 20 minutes, and these pads have 20% more contact area with the rotors. Do a search on the 9000 or performance boards. The other thing that people forget that the brakes are only as good as the tires you have - pay an extra $100 for a set of stickier tires, and you will also get better braking, and it's a lot cheaper than an aftermarket set of rotors and calipers.

I have not done the moon roof in place of sunroof switch, but quite a few people have, and I don't believe it's that difficult. The moon roof from later models definitely fits the earlier models. Probably a few hours work. I would think the biggest thing is to ensure everything is put back together tightly and keeps water out.

With regard to your other question about the stereo, fitting an HK system to your car will not be that difficult, but will involve some work. The head unit will fit right into the same slot in your dash as the that's in your car right now. The in-dash CD player is the same. There are two things that will be different; 1. The HK system has an amplifier mounted under the passenger seat - I don't think this was the case in the '92. 2. The rear speakers for the HK are 6"x9" - I don't remember what size they were on the earlier 9000, but I know they were smaller than this.
If you are buying a used HK system, buy all the wiring and connections that come with it. Also, if at all possible, test it first, to see if any speakers are blown.

If you decide to fit the HK system to your car, if you use the standard harness, that will run power to the amp under the seat. You will likely need to do some fabricating to make the 6x9 speakers fit in the rear. Take some measurements before you buy - I'm not certain that the space beside the parcel shelf on the older 9000 is big enough to accomodate 6x9's.

Another thought, for what it's worth... Many people on here, myself included, have installed aftermarket systems, which allow you to pick and choose what you like... It's probably an easier install in your car than switching to HK. Just buy some nice quality speakers or component speakers and install those in the stock locations. I have Infinity Kappas in the 4 stock locations, and a pair of JL Audio 6" component speakers mounted on the rear parcel shelf in boxes. Others here have MB Quart, the list of options is endless. You can keep your stock head unit setup, OEM SAAB stereo equipment has always been good on the higher end cars. But, speaker technology has definitely moved on. My wife's 9-5 has HK, but there is more and better sound in my 9000. Just mu $0.02
