So LATE last night - I got in my 9k and I nearly hit the car behind me when my brake pedal went to the floor. looked at the reservoir and was shocked that it was nearly empty - well below the min. mark. the car amazingly still had some stopping power so I decided to push my luck with a couple local gas stations. after 3 gas stations - all with only DOT 3. I was at a quandry, If I didnt use the DOT 3 I was stranded. I decided that I didnt want to be stranded and used the DOT 3 - this morning I found my leak at the right rear caliper. I'm just checking to make sure its not possible to do any damage to the system using DOT 3. I syphoned the remaining amount and replenished with DOT 4 - I plan on flushing the entire system when I get the caliper. In my mind, using DOT 3 can only lessen the pressure in the system. Am I wrong? my main worry is screwing something else up. Just wondering if anybody has any input on possible damage to the booster, clutch system etc. thanks in advance. - andy
