1994 9000 CSE Non-Turbo 5-speed, 256,000 miles

For the past 4,000 miles or so the car has misfired on startup, although only under certain circumstances. They are:

-Car has been driven in the past day or so usually a misfire
-Car is still warm, but has been for in excess of 15 minutes

The misfire usually clears up after about 30 seconds, though it has taken up to several minutes of load and revving to get it to clear.

Anyways, I automatically assumed a DI Cassette failure, but as a precaution when the misfire began I changed the plugs with properly gapped and temped NGK plugs.

Anyways, I've been living with the misfire because the car has 255,000 miles and is not a turbo, so I'm almost waiting for an excuse to get rid of it to go back to turbo 9000s (last 4 9ks were 2.0L turbos).

Today when getting off the freeway instead of settling at idle around 800 rpm as usual the car fell to 1500 rpm, and then began bouncing between 1500 rpm and ~2300 rpm, constantly and by itself; If the misfiring hadn't been there I would have assumed a vaccum line came off, but a visual inspection and the fact that other crazy idle things started happening put that hypothesis to rest. I was getting concerned, as with all this misfiring and now crazy idling I had never even caught a glimpse of the CEL. Well, two minutes later it was even kind enough to throw the good ol' light at me.

After getting off work this evening I figured in Saab style that the misfire, which is fairly consistent now, would be there but the strange idle would probably not. What do you know, such was the case.

So, I'll ask the knowledgeable Saabnet crowd, do these phenomena seem symptomatic of a failing DI cassette, or would it be worth my while to start checking TPS, CPS, FPR, fuel computer, etc?
