My 91 seems to pull very hard in 1st and 2nd, feels faster then my friends 94 Aero. but in 3rd gear when you get into it it seems really slow. the boost goes to the yellow and red border. the car picks up speed very well but i just dont feel the boost throwing me back.
is this what 200 hp should feel like.
i also have a hard time with my short gears. it seems in 1st when i floor it the tires break free, and the car redlines way too fast. i dont mind it spining the tires, but i feel really guilty when i see that tach pegging 6 grand. it just redlines so fast that i dont realize it till a couple seconds the tach is pegged.
is there a tranny out there that is geared a little higher then my 91 but not as high as my friends 94 aero. id like to have a little bit of low end on him still but be able to cruise at a lower RPM.
ive heard it might be a good idea to swap 5th gear in my 91 tranny. Isnt it a fairly simple job as 5th gear sits right on the end of the casing. ill have the motor out sometime this summer and so ill prolly mess with the tranny then.
