Okay, a few things here:
a) You aren't well within spec, you're at the edge of it. Some of us would consider -1deg camber a *good* thing, as it helps cornering behavior, but it's at the edge where it may start to show up in tire wear, so tire rotation every few months is a good idea.
The stock setting of -0.6 is a nice conservative highway-friendly spec. I've got -1.5deg camber and +4.5deg caster but I had to slot the strut towers to get there. Works beautifully, though.
b) Just because the factory didn't build in adjustments doesn't mean it can't be adjusted, but if it's out of spec the first step should be to try to figure out why. How many miles on the car? Control-arm bushings worn? Something bent?
c) Alignment-shop camber-fixes are usually done with an eccentric-bolt kit that replaces the straight-through bolts that attach the strut to the knuckle, this allows the knuckle to be tipped in/out a little relative to the strut. Some shops will slot the bolt hole in the strut instead. The preferable thing to do is to move the top of the strut, on some cars this is easy (on a Taurus you cut off the alignment-retainer plate and throw it away) but on a 9000 it's a fair bit of cutting of metal.
