I just did the following re: the VERY leaky sunroof (moonroof?)...

(By the way...the sunroof COVER is soaking wet, as are the headliner of the car and the carpets.)

1.) I checked the drains in the front of the sunroof by pouring water into each of the two front drains. Both allowed the water to drain, and I saw it coming out of the front drains under the front of the car (the ones that are accessed via the aquarium).

I did NOT see any water draining from the rear drains.

2.) I had 12 AWG wire and inserted it through the back drains (at the back of the car), and it fed up well...I'd say I had about 4 feet of wire...pulled it back out. No issue seen there.

I thought I read somewhere on this board that there are six drains. I find only the four, unless you count the ones up on the sunroof itself.

I found the two under the aquarium...no nipples there (there was one left and I removed it), and I found two just forward of the rear wheel wells...(only one nipple left there and I removed it also).

The "gasket" or fuzzy stuff around the glass of the sunroof itself is on nice and tight...I don't see any issue there.

I feel sort of like closing the sunroof and sealing all around it from the roof of the car with something so that this will stop being an issue, but I'm sure this would adversely affect resale value (though I wonder why I should worry about THAT with a 1994 car!)

Anything I've missed? Any other thoughts?

My 18-month-old is napping so I've got about a 90 minute window for auto mechanics work. :) I'm wondering if I should tackle removing my window panel!

thanks again, Friends.

Julia
