The lower mounts aren't technically difficult. It takes a little time and can be a little dirty (oil and grit tend to coat the pan). See Quasi's writeup (at http://www.quasimotors.com) - I use his 'drop the subframe' approach. It sounds horrifying, but really isn't. It is not like the bottom of the car falls out. In fact, you still need to pry things apart a bit. Have a few short pieces of 2x4 around to serve as wedges.
The front is pretty straightforward. Occasionally the rear can be hard to get out - sometimes it is hard to get enough clearance to get the mount out. Depending on the year, one approach I've used is pretty easy - with the engine supported, you simply unbolt the bracket that holds the mount to the engine (three bolts). No lifts are required, but I would advise sturdy jack stands and a floor jack is really nice.
I'd say doing lower mounts is about a 2 hour job. But it always takes me longer. That's because you remove the right fender inner liner (all of 15 minutes) to access the lower mounts, and with that off, you have complete access to the accessory side of the engine. Last time I did the mounts, I also replaced the serpentine belt and tensioner and idler pulleys. The main seal was a little leaky, so I replaced that, and while I was at it, did the oil pump O-ring. The alternator voltage was a little low, so I did a preventitive replacement of the voltage regulator. So a simple motor mount job grew into something that extended over a couple of days. But that's necessary maintenace anyway.
