1. 9000 was designed by Giugiaro, who founded Ital Design. Everytime I go to drive my 89 9000T (before Saab gave it a tilted grille and headlights in 1991, which took away some of the design integrity), I could not stop marvelling at its lines, specially its profile.
2. The car won an European insurance award for being the "safest car", 3 times running; 1990,92,94 (the award was presented every other year).
3. Because the basic design was shared by Alfa, Lancia and Fiat, it necessitated a "subframe" for different engines. The subframe benefited the easy of repair.
That's for 9000.
As to 95, it is just an Opel.
By the way, don't buy one with a V6 engine, which is Opel.
