Just a quick question on the TCS 'control valve'

I've been having some TCS issues lately. I've cleaned the the Throttle Body, electrical connections, and the motor inside the TB looks fine.
I multimetered the safety valve and got 30ohm while it was cool (TCS manual says thats ok?). I metered the "control valve" (drivers side near battery), and I get an open circuit. Searching around, I find thats usually NOT the thing that goes on people with TCS, but I cant get any resistance out of it. TCS manual says it must read 30ohms as well. AFAIK, the control valve is more for cruise control, but could this trigger LHM?
Regardless, something is throwing me into LHM, car is idleing very rough, around 400-500rpm, and sputters, is that normal for LHM? It happend to me while on the road and I had to drive and alwasy keep it reved on the way home or else it would die.
The TCS light is constantly on as well as the ABS light, sometimes. I would like to try out some things first before I bite the bullet and get it scaned by a TECH II. I've only had the car for two months, probably only put about 1500 miles on it so far :(
