Whoa...$2k is a screaming deal. Mine is quite a story.....I paid $3,600 for it; 164k, auto, but (and its a BIG but)....it was hit in the front; needed a bumper, headlights, grille, corner lights, and some front end straightening on the frame bench. The airbags didn't pop, the hood and fenders didn't get damaged, it just got popped a litle. You can see pics of it in the below link. The car did not have the Super Aero wheels, the drivers seat needs leather repair, it needs a fan motor, the woodgrain dash was very faded, the display on the CD player is very dim, it needs the "glovebox" piece of carpet / dash near the passengers feet, and someone spilled white paint on the rear floor, so it needs some carpet. It sounds like a real turd, I know.
My wife and I looked at the car, and it was okay; the "aero goodies" weren't really there, but we took it for a spin, and my wife backed it into a concrete-filled metal bucket that was painted green; it left a nice streak and scratches on the drivers door! At that point, she looked at me, I looked at her, without saying a word, she drove back into the dooryard of the seller, stepped out and said "We'll take it!!" It A) made us buy the car, and B) didn't allow for ANY price negotiations, afterall, we smashed the car on a test drive! I was quite angry about it, knowing that I would have an easy $1500 into parts to get it to where I was happy with it. I drove it home upset (the thing cranks along very well...not as quick as my Typhoon, but its respectable!!!), put it up on the lift and began looking it over. It is hands down, the cleanest 9k I have ever seen. For the northeast, in the "rust belt", there is ZERO rust. The underside of the car looks like it rolled off the line yesterday. It runs top notch, is super clean, and just needs some love.
Since then, I've picked up a set of super aero wheels, a full set of aero seats (paid $225 for all 4; from a 60k mile '96!!!), the headlights, grille, corner lights, had the front end pulled, the carpet, and the woodgrain dash. Its coming together nicely, and my wife is looking forward to taking it over as her daily driver.
There...enough from me. You got a DEAL!!!!!!! Congrats!
