Well, yesterday at 10:45 AM in Fairfax, VA, my 1995 Aero got hit by a kid in an x-terra. We were in a double left turn lane and he was to my right. He got on the gas too much and oversteered. By the time I saw him, he was already sideways and he punched me square in the passenger door with his front bumper.
Haven't gotten the damage appraisal back yet, but I think it will be totalled.
I have a couple of questions. How do I get the most money from the insurance company? I imagine they low-ball you pretty bad. Just don't want to get screwed.
How does one go about buying back the wreck from the insurance company? I might think about getting the pillar straightened and then just get two good doors from a junkyard and keep the old girl for a back-up car. Or post her for sale for parts.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
