I have a '93 Aero and I just bought rims with a +38 offset, they fit great in the front, but are very tight in the rear. To give some clearance I added 10mm spacers, which effectively makes them +28 offset. A +40 rim would deffinitely need spacers in the rear. Here is a link for more information about how offsets work:
