AC line fittings old style to newer-update Posted by huey [Email] (#1023) [Profile/Gallery] (more from huey) on Thu, 13 Jul 2006 19:31:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
See my post w/ question July 11. On why fittings changed from '92 to '95. Seems as if the 95 hose set lacks the extra "clamp block" and holddown bolts where it connects to EXP VALVE. Also, the steel alignment pin on the '92 expansion valve block was larger than the hole provided on the '95 hose line block. In my case, the pin was cut, and then punched down to make the newer style block fit older style EVAP. (An emergency measure by my AC tech, long summer road trip required AC operational). Also, had to use a SHORTER bolt. Old bolt which I tried to reuse was simply TOO LONG and I never sealed the system. EVacuated in about 30 minutes, recharged with 2 cans of R134a, and I am Chilling again.
