I suspect your satellite receiver is picking up alternator whine through its 12v input from the cigarette lighter. Try using an alternate power source (some kind of 12v battery? Idunno, get creative!) to see if the noise goes away.
If so, you'll need to wire in something like this to power the satellite receiver:

Alternatively, use another source to test your RCA line in. A discman/ipod/etc with a mini-jack to dual RCA adapter would work here...
How is the RCA cable ran from the sat. receiver to the head unit? Does it enter the head unit at the back? Could it be passing near power lines which have alternator whine going through them?
