Crazy good mileage

So my '95 Aero got hit in the passneger door 2 weeks ago. Saturday, I drove it from DC to Roch. New york. I use a trash bag to keep the rain out of the passenger door side and tape it up out of the way with duct tape when I drive. Classy - I know. So this taped up nightmare limits my speed to 65 MPH or so. Anyway, on the way up, the EDU was stating 36+ mpg at a steady 65 MPH with driver and pass. windows down. I didn't believe it.
So on the way home yesterday I decide to verify the mileage. Filled up in NY. Seven hours later in Virginia I fill up again. 9-1/2 gallons and I had driven 360 miles. That's almost 38 MPG!!! Again, both windows down the entire way, no A/C on, fat 225R16 tires on it.
I think something is fishy here - but not sure what it is. Regardless, I was quite impressed with my old cars apparent economy and DAMMIT is 65 MPH sloooooooooooooooohttp://wwwhttp://wwww on a long trip. I had Amish guys on bikes drafting me.
Just thought I'd brag a little.
Chris - '95 Aero w/ 210,XXX and a big smash in the side.
