It is easy if you are in your garage with all kinds of tools available to you. When you are on the road, I don't know. The connections are:
the fuel pump,
the two straps, and
the fuel filler neck.
Assuming the fuel pump is gone (if it is not, you'll have a big headache ahead of you doing it on the road), the two metal straps are held by two long bolts even your 10 mm deep socket will no reach. So have a hack saw ready to cut the bolt short. Also have the same hack saw blade ready to cut the hose clamps connecting the plastic filler neck components, provided you are not concerned about collateral damage.
