A friend of mine has a 93 CDE (I coincidentally have the same car, but anyhow..) and, we both just did timing/balance chains/headgasket on our cars. My car hasn't had any problems since, except for running a little warmer. But his car, really didn't want to start when we started it. But it did, and then ran ok after new plugs were put in. However, he had just driven the car on a trip, and came back home, went to leave and the car started, and then on his way down the driveway stalled and wouldn't restart. And it still won't restart. Although after it sat for a few days we tried it and it coughed twice, but no signs of starting.
Now, for the stuff I know..
The fuel pump runs and gets fuel to the rail.
The DI is ok, we swapped a known good one in and it still didn't start.
The plugs are dry, so its firing..
The Crank Sensor I tested, and it goes from 0V to 11.18V (isn't it supposed to be 12V?)
So, I don't think its opening the injectors, my next test was a test light on the injector plug to see if its even trying to fire them.
But I can't help but wondering that I'm missing something. Anyone have any ideas that I should try? And if its not telling the injectors to fire, what could that be? Crank sensor? Any and all ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks!
