I've owned 3 Saabs in my "adult" life, had them around all my childhood - Dad had always been a fan. When he got his 97 Aero off the lot, I always coveted it - a few weeks ago, out of the blue, he called and asked if I wanted to buy it (167,000 miles METICULOUSLY maintained). I immediately arranged to go to Vermot and get it. Drove it all the way back to Georgia (33 MPG)...
I cannot get the smile off my face! What fun! It's the reason I always loved Saabs. I have a buddy who thrills on 90's era BMW M5's - he knew nothing about these, and after driving it is now considering selling one & picking an Aero up. Told him good luck in finding one! I myself plan to keep this car going for a minimum of another 100K miles. There is nothing like it - fun, function, smoothness, and stealth.
This forum is fantastic (i've been lurking for years). Thanks to everyone who posts, and for helping me make the best auto purchase of my life! I'll be a regular now!
