After a lot of research I bought and installed an Alpine CDA-9856 with alpine 6x9 (Alpine SPS-69C2 SPS 69C2 6x9" Coaxial Speakers ) in the rear and 4" Kenwood speakers under the dash. I also bought the cable (Alpine KCE-422i i-pod) to connect my iPod to the Alpine. I love it. The sound quality using relatively new CD's is great. I have found my newer CD’s have better sound quality. This is a bummer because I listen to a lot of 70’s and 80’s music.
Ps…. I did have to bypass the oem power amp under the passenger seat.
I can play mp3's, Ipod and CDRW’s. All the formats loss a little of the sound quality. I think the Ipod losses the least amount of quality and I really like that I can have tons of music and variety in the car. When using the iPod I can turn up the sound to rock and still get good sound. If you rip and burn your mp3’s at CD Qality YOU WILL ALSO GET really good sound but you can only put about 20 songs on a CD. If you rip and burn y our music on a lower bit rate the sound quality coming through the stereo and the speaker is not that good. As you turn up the volume the quality gets worse. Right now I mostly use CD’s and the iPod.
