I spent almost a full day Friday and today from 7 AM to 3 PM getting the car done, starting with a almost stripped 94 short block on the stand. It was uneventful but naturally time consuming. The only part I was waiting was the intake manifold gasket which FedEx delivered 10 AM Friday. Now the car ran like before with a 80k engine.
The only event was after putting everything together at 3 PM today, I started cranking the engine. It wouldn't catch. I decided to shower after repeating the ignition several times. CPS sensor? Fuel Pump? I was formulating my strategy to deal with the no start situation in the shower. Then I dawned on me the last thing I did to the bad engine was the compression test. I pull the fuel pump fuse, #14, before the test. Natuarally the car wouldn't fire with the fuel pump fuse unplugged. The car started right up after i reinstalled the fuel pump fuse. What sweet music!
Everything on the 94cs works except it carries a 6 flash CEL from the previous engine.
