wierd tach, up-shift, infinite gas mileage

My '93 CSE was fixed yesterday. Guy put on a used e-throttle body and now it actually runs. Cool.
Unrelated, I believe (and he believes), the tach stopped working at the same time, the up-shift light too is now permanently ON, and the little trip computer thingy indicates I'm getting infinite gas mileage. The bar-chart always indicates max (50+), the cumulative MPG worked its way up to 99.9 MPG and the distance I can drive on the fuel remaining in the tank also worked its way up to 999.
A clue is that the up-shift light is dim, while the other lights in the warning panel (eg cruise, TCS, low fuel, etc) are normal brightness, so it's looking like a bad ground somewhere.
Any clues out there? I've unplugged, sanded and re-connected as many connectors I can find that might possibly be related.
Thanks.
