Boost cut off

Another question for my '93 Aero:
I recently had boost problems as my control solenoid went, and then the cotter pin in my wastegate fell off, leaving me with no boost at all. I fixed both of these problems, but now the car hits boost cut off. It is not a huge problem, as the point it cuts off is at the end of the red, but the car never had this before, even under my hardest driving.
Is this a waste gate adjustment I should make? or cleaning out the new solenoid? I would be happy if the boost was limited just below that cutoff point, but don't know how to change this. It is also strange because when fixing the solenoid, I put one from a friends '91 turbo in and the boost in my Aero went well past teh red, almost to the F in the gas gauge. Not really sure what this means, other than the boost is not being limited by the capacity of the turbo. Any sugestions? (other than slowing down)
Thanks
