215,000 miles is not extreme for a well maintained saab, but nearly every Saab I've bought, with less miles and more money, still needed close to $1000 from me, in DIY mode, after purchase, to get the car to where I want it to be, which is a fairly high standard as my wife may be driving around in it with my kids while I'm in a different country. But I can afford to do so and its my way of avoiding the new car expense.
If you test drive the car and it seems solid, and if you are comfortable with doing some repairs yourself (or learning how), it could be a better car than the Honda or Toyota at the same price. As far as the price of parts (or service if you can't do the work), there is essentially no difference between Saab and Ford (I have a pickup), I suspect the same is true for Saab vs. Honda. (If yuo can do repairs, Eeuroparts.com as a source of parts has made it affordable for alot of us to drive Saabs.)
