I and my indy have been struggling for months with a boost problem. Initially replaced plugs, BPC valve (twice, 1st used then new), DI and it ran great for about 1500 miles then started having inconsistant boosting - did the BPC go bad? It was very drivable and BPCs were on back order. As long as I didn't punch it, it was as fast as my 94. So several months and after my indy's hip replacement, we put the new BPC in - no change. Swapped out the DI - no change. So, I was going to leave it with my mechanic after his other hip job next month. In the mean time, I ordered new plugs and air and fuel filter since it had been 10k since the original plugs were replaced and I didn't know how old the filters were. Well, after doing the plugs and air filter, it goes like a rocket. I made some adaptation runs up a long hill and now it boosts all the way into the red and is smooth as can be.
In recent weeks I've noticed a little jerkiness in slow acceleration. Under medium to hard acceleration I could let it boost into the broken yellow and it felt like the 94. If I punched it, it would start bucking.
So I guess we had it fixed and the plugs got fouled? The plugs "look" OK , maybe a little too white. I save them for my indy. I think I'll replace the fuel filter just for good measure.
