You are lucky to have found a car from a salt/rust free state. Now that you are bringing her into a rust belt state you should go over her carefully to see if there are any infiltration points in the protective membrane. This encompasses the shiny side as well as the underside and wheel wheels.Any area you find should be repaired. Also take the wheel well trim off and clean the mating surfaces good and apply wax to protect the paint.Sand and grit can accumulate there and act like a grinder to create porous openings for road salt to get in and rust to start.During the winter months you should flush the wheel wells and undercarraige of road salt and grit. Also hose out the motor compartment. Some say to be careful of the wiring connections and not to use the high pressure at the car wash spray booths.I have been flushing my motor for years without ill effects.I just release the trigger near connectors and engage it for the rest.'96 is nice because it's the first year of the little pouches on the forward seatfronts, good for gloves.Good luck with her
