Electrical issues, HVAC and Radiator Fan Posted by DietrichOS [Email] (#430) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DietrichOS) on Tue, 5 Sep 2006 19:33:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Recently replaced coolant hoses, unplugged the radiator temp sensor accidentally and then plugged it back in. The car (92 9000 Turbo 2.3) has been running great for the last couple of days.
Then tonight I noticed the lights on my Automatic Climate Control readout were blinking reidiculously. The HVAC still seemed to work though. Then I noticed the car was about to overheat, and the electric fan on the radiator was not coming on.
I made it home, popped the hood, and stared at the motor for a couple of minutes with a puzzled look on my face. Then the cooling fan for the radiator came on randomly. The temp sensor still seems to be plugged in. Could it have come a bit loose to cause this though? I didn't want to get down and scrape my head on the pavement in the dark to look at it.
Are these two problems related, or did my 9k simultaneusly develope two electrical gremlins in one night? This was my main fear in buying this car, electrical issues. Now they are coming to pass. Good thing I have my old simple '84 900 to drive around while I work this out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
