our 88 and 95 9000 both have had their share of headlight relays and turn signal/flasher units.
i doubt you have a major electrica concern. what happen many times is either the wiring around the relay is to thin for the load (headlight) or the contacts in the relay can get old and carbonized from use (turn signal) and this creates resistance and heat which can then damage solder joints, connection points or even wires often at the spade.
once i leared the trick on how to clean the terminal or relay contacts w/o damaging the coating on the contact points my headlights and such have worked forever. one of our 9000 had so much heat damage at the headlight relay that the box was melted around the connection. i had to remove the box from back side, remove the wires, cut and reset the spades and hardwire them to the relay. not a problem in years which shows me the wiring was heat damaged near the connections.
i have also had fan relays and a/c relays go making one thing the fan or a/c had died when in fact either cleaning the relay contact at the sock or opening the rleay and cleaning the contact there can help. in our 1988 i had to open the relay and fix a solder joint too see link below...
