1998 CSE slow clutch

I purchased this summer a 1998 CSE with 76,000 miles and imported it from the States to Canada.
The car is very nice and i enjoy it very much except for a clutch problem. When i purchased the car the master, slave cylinders and the clutch were supposed to have been replaced. However i doubt the slave and the clutch have been done since we (my mechanic and I) cannot found any trace of the transmission removal like marks on the bolts. The clutch work fine except after a long driving (an hour or more) the clutch becomes slow to get engaged specially in higher gears (or it s more apparent) and i have to wait till the clutch pedal gets back in its upper position before giving any throttle if i dont want the clutch to slip.
Where do i start to find the problem, we have already bled the system, could it be the hydraulic liquid used that would be the wrong one, how do I check ? Otherwise any other solution than changing the master, then the slave ?
Thanks
